Bad News for the L-13

This just came out today:  The engineering firm hired by LET, Aircraft Design and Certification, has published a formal report on the Blanik spar cap.  The news is not good.  While I have not digested the report yet, I can see that the fix, in the form a proposed STC, will cost at least $10K, probably more.  My guess is that the STC will not be approved by the FAA for some months yet, but they will most likely approve it.  Any alternative STC will have to match the exacting standards of AD&C's proposed STC.  Go to firm's web site and download the report (PDF file).  Time for Plan B...bummer.
