We had a productive opening day Saturday, beginning with pilots' breakfast. Afterward we attended Al's talk on Runway Safety at the Jet Center, we rigged the Lark and the L-33. Pangborn Airport Manager,Greg Phillips, met with us later, and addressed many of our concerns about the closure of RWY 7-25. He assured us that the grass strip would remain open, pending safe operations. He also promised to recommend to the airport board that a new grass strip replace the deteriorating RWY 7-25. A number of us affirmed the need for this strip and promised to support it with labor and letters of support. Afterwards, Tim and I flew our 3 currency landings and provided spring check rides for Dave and Don. If you need a Spring check ride, be at the airport Saturday afternoon after 2:00. Roy Clark has a flight review with me from 12:00-2:00, and we need to have a (mandatory) safety meeting Saturday morning as well. Hope to see you flying soon. Mike |
