WEATHER

This weekend we will see good soaring conditions, although the air is dry.  There is still a pressure gradient across the mountains, so the wind my kick up Saturday, but it is not forecast to be a blow out.  Sunday should welcome in the sun again.  Both days may see a few cumulus clouds, but relative humidity is forecast low (40%).

TOW PILOTS

Travis said he can tow Saturday, starting about noon.  We need somebody for Sunday.

OTHER STUFF

I have a PDA with self-contained GPS and GlideNav II on it that I will make available to the club.  GlideNav II is what we have running on the LS-3, and this would be a good training device for those who want to learn the software.  I have uploaded all the Ephrata Way Points on the PDA, and the PDA has a really big, self-contained battery, which should last for at least 4 hours of flying.  I am hoping the club will buy a goose neck mount for the PDA to install in the L-33.  Until then,  I have rigged a removable mount in the L-33.  Please let me know if you are interested in using the system.  I will gladly leave it at the club with charger.  However, if the batteries run down, I will have to reload the software, which is a pain.  Therefore, we must keep the unit charged! The unit also runs in simulator mode, so it makes a great learning tool.

Fly Safely,
Mike
