Soaring This Weekend, May 20-22

posted May 19, 2011, 8:50 PM by Unknown user

The weather looks great for soaring Friday afternoon, although drier skies might make cumulus formation lighter than we'd like. The TI's are predicted to be very favorable, so look for blue thermals and some CUs in the afternoon.  Saturday, a trough digs in, and skies will cloud up. If the blue hole stays open, soaring should be good.  Sunday, looks awesome for soaring in the wake of a cold front ripping through our region Saturday evening.

Tow Pilots

Travis said he probably can tow Friday from 3:00-4:00 but no later.  He also can tow Saturday, staring at 1:00.  He will be on call, however, so he might need to disappear suddenly, although this doesn't happen much.  We have nobody Sunday.

Cross-Country Seminar Saturday Morning at 10:30

Don't forget Cross-Country Seminar on Saturday from 10:30 until noon at the CSS clubhouse.  It's bound to be informative, because Vitek will share his knowledge of soaring with us.  The more, the merrier!  Hope to see you there.
